#RumorHasIt: Biggest NFL Free Agency Transactions in the AFC

As promised, here are some of the top free agency moves in the AFC.

Browns: Dropping Isaiah Crowell, Dropping Deshone Kizer, Adding Jarvis Landry

Coming off an awful 0-16 season, the Browns have prepped themselves for a solid season. Expectations couldn’t be lower for a Browns team that has won just 3 games in the last three years. With strong additions of Jarvis Landry and Carlos Hyde on offense, and even with the lose of veteran Joe Thomas, the Browns are in a good place at this point of free agency. Keep an eye out for a few more big names to meet with the Browns before the season starts.

Chiefs: Dropping Alex Smith, Dropping Tamba Hali, Adding Sammy Watkins, Adding Anthony Hitchens, Adding Kendall Fuller, Dropping Marcus Peters

In one of the biggest deals of the offseason, Alex Smith was released by the Chiefs and landed in Washington on the Redskins. Putting all their marbles on young QB Partick Mahomes, the Chiefs have added a few new key players to their roster. After getting released by the Cowboys, LB Anthony Hitchens is headed to KC to join a defense that is losing star CB Marcus Peters in the backfield. Hitchens has been in the top-5 in tackles throughout the league for the last three seasons and will bring consistency to the Chiefs this season. The addition of Sammy Watkins will bring another high quality WR for Mahomes to target down the field.

Dolphins: Adding Danny Amendola, Dropping Ndakumong Suh, Adding Robert Quinn, Dropping Jarvis Landry

After falling short in Super Bowl 52, former Patriots WR Danny Amendola is headed to Miami to join a mid-level Dolphins team. In a tough division, the Dolphins finished just 6-10 overall and 3rd in the AFC East last season. Even with the loss of star DE Ndakumong Suh, the ‘Fins are in good shape with the addition of the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year Robert Quinn (from the Rams).

With the loss of Jarvis Landry, the addition of Amendola will bode well for the Dolphins, no matter who is throwing the rock in the 2018 season.

Titans: Adding Dion Lewis, Adding Malcolm Butler, Dropping DeMarco Murray, Dropping Matt Cassell

After a mediocre season, the Titans have parted ways with DeMarco Murray. With expectations of Derrick Henrey playing a bigger role, the Titans also added former Patriot running back Dion Lewis, a great runner and pass catcher. With a healthy Marcus Mariota, the Titans will stay primed for another trip to the playoffs this upcoming season. Additionally, the Titans are picking up Super Bowl 49 hero Malcolm Butler, also from the Patriots. After getting benched during Super Bowl 52 in February, Butler was released and stuck gold with the Titans, who need major improvements to their defensive backfield.

Raiders: Dropping Michael Crabtree, Dropping Corrdarrelle Patterson, Adding Rashaan Melvin,  Adding Jordy Nelson, Adding Doug Martin

With most of their major moves coming on the offensive side of the ball, the Raiders are primed for another strong campaign in 2018. After the Packers released veteran WR Jordy Nelson, the Raiders have jumped on the Nelson-train and traded up from the inconsistency of Michael Crabtree. Alongside Amari Cooper, Jordy Nelson will be a main target for Derek Carr as he eyes another successful season. Veteran RB Doug Martin, formerly with the Bucs, has also signed with the Raiders, backing up Marshawn Lynch in the backfield.
